The engagement of Crown Prince Georg of Saxony and Duchess Marie Amélie of Württemberg was announced in the Berlin newspaper, Lokal Anzeiger, according to the New York Times.
Crown Prince Georg was "wounded early in the war," and he was treated in Dresden, where the German Emperor, Wilhelm II, presented him with the Iron Cross. After he turned twenty, the Crown Prince "has been initiated gradually into State affairs, and everything has been done to give him a full appreciation of his duty as King," in the event of his father, Friedrich August III's death.
Crown Prince Georg is now 25 years old.
Duchess Marie Amélie is the eldest daughter of Duke Albrecht of Württemberg and Archduchess Margarete Sophie of Austria.
