Princess Aribert of Anhalt arrived in Washington, D.C., this afternoon, and is the guest of Lord and Lady Paunceforte at the British Embassy.
According to the New York Times, the princess' "coming was somewhat of a surprise," as the Ambassador learned about the visit by cable "only a few days ago."
The Princess is twenty-eight years old and married to Prince Aribert of Anhalt. She is traveling
Lord and Lady Paunceforte met the Princess at the station and welcomed her to Washington, D.C.
The Princess, born Princess Marie Louise of Schleswig-Holstein, "is a tall and graceful brunette." She is the youngest of the four children of Prince and Princess Christian, and, thus, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria.
She now lives in Germany, but makes a yearly visit to her parents, at their home, Cumberland Lodge, at Windsor.
The embassy staff "all paid their respects" this evening, and will join the Ambassador "at dinner during the visit of the Princess."

They have "no planned functions in her honor, as the nature of her entertainment will depend entirely upon her own wishes."
