Count Istvan Kornis von Goncz-Ruszka and Countess Christina Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden are engaged to be married, according to an announcement in the Deutsches Adelsblatt.
Istvan, born January 16, 1987, is the seventh and youngest child of Princess Maria-Theresia of Bavaria and Count Tamas Kornis von Goncz-Ruszka. The bride-to- be's full name is Christina Maria Therese Donata and she was born in 1989. She is the youngest child of Count Albrecht Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden and Donata von Arnim. Albrecht is the son of the late Count Georg Sigmund Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden and Countess Marie Gabrielle von Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg.
Marie Gabrielle's father was Count Maria Wilhelm Karl Maximilian, who was the sixth child of Wilhelm, Prince of Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchberg, but the only child of Georg and his second wife, Princess Marie Georgine of Thurn und Taxis. Count Wilhelm's older half brother, Georg, succeeded as the Prince of Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchberg in 1906. On May 8, 1897, he married Altgräfin Marie Theresia zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Raitz. They had two sons, Eberhard and Erich August. Eberhard was killed in action in Romania in November 1916. Nearly two years later, in September 1918, Georg died and was succeeded by Erich August. He married Princess Monika of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg. Their eldest son, Georg, the present prince, is married to Princess Marie Gabrielle of Bavaria.
Count Wilhelm married a cousin of his older half-brother's wife, Altgräfin Marie Therese zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Raitz in 1921. Their elder daughter, Marie Gabrielle, married Count Georg Sigmund Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden. Their granddaughter, Christina, is the bride-to-be.
The date of the wedding has not been announced.
