Zita to marry to gain Hungarian citizenship

January 7, 1925

It was declared today in Budapest that former Empress Zita of Austria will marry Count Joseph Hunyadi, a Hungarian, so she could obtain Hungarian citizenship, according to dispatch from the Chicago Tribune foreign news service.  The declaration was made by Dr. Vincent Nagay, a democratic deputy at a meeting of opposition parties.   According to Dr. Nagay, the former Empress has been advised to "take this step" in order to become a Hungarian citizen.
Zita wishes to live in Hungary "to prepare the young Archduke Otto for the Hungarian throne."  At present, she and her children are forbidden to live in Hungary.
