Victoria Marone Cinzano, the 19-year-old granddaughter of the late King Alfonso XIII of Spain, and Don Carlos Alvarez, 30, a Spanish Grandee, were married today "in a glittering ceremony at the Roman Catholic Cathedral" in Geneva.
The bride's grandmother, former Queen Victoria Eugenia, "headed the list of several hundred guests from Spain and Italy," according to the report in the New York Times.
A civil ceremony took place before the religious service.
The bride is the daughter of Count Enrico Marone Cinzano, a wealthy "Italian industrialist and producer of Vermouth," and Infanta Maria Cristina of Spain, younger daughter of King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenia.
