Queen Victoria remained in the gardens of her villa in Florence, today, reports the Times. Prince and Princess Henry of Battenberg, however, went for a drive. In the afternoon, the Queen and the Prince and Princess drove down to the Cascine where "Her Majesty received a warm greeting from the elite of Florentine society, which had assembled in large numbers to welcome her."
The Queen was also visited by her second son, the Duke of Edinburgh, who is scheduled to leave Florence tomorrow. The visit of the King and Queen of Italy has been postponed due to the the situation in Abyssinia.
