Budapest newspaper report that Lieutenant Keglevich has made a bold, but futile attempt to free Princess Louise of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha from the Lindenhof asylum near Dresden.
Lt. Keglevich watched from outside the asylum, and waited until the princess was taken out for a drive. He was able to meet with her, and discuss plans to arrange for an escape. The princess's attendant was bribed, but apparently, chose to tell her superior about Princess Louise's escape plans.
Lt. Kegelvich and Princess Louise, who is the daughter of King Leopold II of the Belgians, eloped several years ago. They were caught, and Louise was placed in the mental asylum. Her lover was convicted of forging the name of Princess Stephanie, Louise's sister. to finance Louise's extravagant lifestyle. He was sentenced to four years' in jail. After he was freed, he declared that Louise was sane, and he would remain determined to free her from the asylum.
