The State of Nirvana is killing me

Killing me, I tell you.  Post-season baseball is not for the faint of heart.  The division series in the NL and AL is the best of five, which means you have to win three games in order to move to the League Championship.

The San Francisco Giants have already won their division championship and will go to the National League Championship versus ... well that will be known tonight.   The Nats won the first game, and St. Louis won games 2 and 3.  The first two games were in St. Louis, and the final three games are at home for the Nats.   Last night, it was do or die for the Nats, time to step up to the plate (and hit the ball), it was time for the pitchers to settle down and strike out the Cardinal batters.

Tie score all the way until the bottom of the 9th.  If the home team is ahead after the top of the 9th (visiting team always bats first), the bottom half does not get played, but it the home team is tied or behind,  the bottom inning is played.

First batter up: Jayson Werth.  2 strikes and then he hits 9 fall balls  .. and then the next pitch . SEE YOU LATER ... HOME RUN!  I think Jayson flew around the bases to come home where his teammates were waiting to cheer him on .... and that one run saved the Nats to play game 5 of the division series.  Tonight.  Starting at 8:30 p.m.

Made it home to watch most of the Orioles-Yankees game 4.  The Orioles were in the same position as Nats ... down 2 games to one.  A do or die situation.   Tied score all the way to the top of the 13th inning.  (A regular game is 9 innings, but if the score is tied, you keep playing until someone wins, and the home team always has the last chance.)  In extra innings, no chance for a beer because alcohol sales stop at the end of the 7th inning. The Orioles scored a run, and went ahead of the Yankees ... and then the Yankees came up, and no runs.  Orioles win after midnight.   Fifth game starts at 5 p.m.

I believe the Nats are going to win ... and the Orioles are going to win .. and both will get to their respective League Championships to play the Giants and the Detroit Tigers, respectively.  Praying to the baseball god!

I had tickets for Game 1 and Game 2 at home, and last night, I bought a Standing Room Only ticket for tonight's game.  It's all or nothing.  I am not ready for this season to send.  I can take the heart palpitations.  I've done this before, I can do it again.   I believe!
