Adolf of Nassau marries again!

Duke Adolf mourned his young and beautiful wife for several years, but he realized that he did have to find a new wife and give Nassau an heir, but it was not until April 23, 1851, when he married Princess Adelheid Marie of Anhalt-Dessau.  She was seventeen at the time of the marriage, having been born on December 25, 1833 to Prince Friedrich of Anhalt-Dessau and Princess Marie Luise of Hesse-Cassel.

The couple had five children, Wilhelm, Friedrich, Marie, Franz Josef, and Hilda.  Only two of the children, Wilhelm and Hilda, lived to adulthood.
