THE WEDDING OF LADY GABRIELLA WINDSOR AND MR THOMAS KINGSTON

Lady Gabriella’s wedding dress

Lady Gabriella’s wedding dress was a bespoke design by Luisa Beccaria. It was made of lace, embroidered with flowers and embellishments. Its blush shade came from layers of tulle and organdie beneath the lace, which created the body of the gown. The skirts fanned out into a long train. Her veil was made from layers of white tulle, together with embroidered flowers.

The Bridesmaid and Pageboy outfits were also designed by Luisa Beccaria. Bridesmaids wore cream dresses with blush underlays and sashes, with flower rings in their hair to echo the bridal bouquet. Pageboys wore cream shirts and knickerbockers. Their shoes were by Papouelli.

Lady Gabriella wore a Russian Fringe style diamond tiara also worn by her grandmother, HRH Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, and her mother, HRH Princess Michael of Kent, on their wedding days.

Lady Gabriella’s bouquet featured a creamy ivory ‘Ella’ rose by David Austin, named for the bride, and myrtle, which has formed part of many Royal wedding bouquets in a tradition started by Queen Victoria. Other flowers incorporated included Juliet roses, Lily of the Valley and white and apricot sweet peas.

The Bridal Party

Mr Kingston’s Best Men were Mr Benjamin Crow, Mr Daniel Crow and Mr Jamie Campbell.

The Bridesmaids were Miss Isabella Windsor, Miss Maud Windsor, Miss Leonora Weisman, Miss Aurelia del Drago, Miss Eliza Goldsmith and Miss Emily Conolly.

The Pageboys were Master Frederick Murray, Master Rafferty Murray and Master Karim Khawaja.

Miss Estella Taylor, Miss Jessie Conolly and Miss Hannah Conolly were Special Attendants.

Lady Gabriella Windsor and Mr Thomas Kingston were married today at St George’s Chapel, Windsor. The Service was conducted by the Dean of Windsor, The Rt Revd David Conner. The Wedding was followed by a private reception at Frogmore House, Windsor.

Service details

The hymns were ‘Tell Out My Soul’, ‘Be Thou My Vision’ and ‘Love Divine, All Loves Excelling’.

The readings were taken from Ecclesiastes III, Philippians IV, Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare and O Tell Me The Truth About Love, by W.H. Auden. They were read by Mrs Joanna Conolly, Mrs Emma Murray, Lady Frederick Windsor and Miss Sarah St George.

Floral arrangements

Lady Gabriella and Mr Kingston chose Paul Thomas to design the flower arrangements for the Service. Flowers in St George’s Chapel included coral sunset peonies, coral and white roses, white hydrangea, white delphiniums, apricot stocks and seasonal flowers, in addition to the creamy ivory ‘Ella’ rose, by David Austin, named for the bride.

The cherry and apple blossom trees and shrubs which stood outside St George’s Chapel were from Hillier Nurseries. Flowers at the reception were by John Plested.

Cake and reception

The wedding cake was a tall tiered cake designed and created by Fiona Cairns. The pale blush icing and leaf border surrounding the base were inspired by fabric within Frogmore House. The decoration included seasonal sugar flowers and shades of the lacework on the Bride’s wedding dress. The three-tiered cake was made with three recipes including fruit cake, Victoria sponge and lemon Limoncello sponge.

Guests at the afternoon reception were served smoked Scottish salmon and asparagus risotto and canapés, as well as Caragh Chocolates from the Isle of Sark, where the couple became engaged.

I love how Princess Michael of Kent chose the same color scheme she wore on the day her newborn Ella was first introduced to the public in front of the hospital. Gorgeous wedding! Congratulations.
