The widowed Princess Friedrich Karl of Prussia will leave Berlin in "about ten days" for Italy, reports the London World. She will spend several months at Florence, Rome and Naples. Her only son, Prince Friedrich Leopold, who "has inherited the bulk of his father's immense fortune" is going for a "seven months' tour in the East," starting in Constantinople.
Prince Friedrich Leopold, with his great wealth, is now one of the most eligible of royal princes in Europe. Many expect he will marry "a member of the royal family of England, unless he is secured for Princess Victoria, second daughter of the Crown Prince." But many assume Princess Victoria will marry the Duke of Augustenberg, who has been "spoken as a suitable parti." The duke's eldest sister, Auguste Viktoria, is married to Prince Wilhelm of Prussia, the Crown Prince's eldest son.
