Former King George II of the Hellenes left London for Roumania via Paris today, "but insisted that his visit had no political significance, reports the Associated Press. George will stop in Paris to see his cousin, Princess Sophie, "who is there buying a trousseau."
"I do not know much about buying a trousseau, but I suppose I shall be consulted," the former king said. "Then I shall go to Roumania to rejoin the Queen. My plans after that are uncertain, but I hope to England again before very long."
George is married to Princess Elisabeth of Roumania, eldest daughter of the late King Ferdinand and Queen Marie. The couple have no children.
