Princesses Birgitta and Désirée of Sweden were guests today at a reception given by "Swedish-Americans of the metropolitan area," reported the New York Times.
More than 400 guests attended the affair at the Biltmore Hotel. In the morning, Princess Birgitta, 23 years old, and Princess Désirée, 22, were taken on a tour of the United Nations by Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold, a Swede.
Later today, the two princesses, granddaughters of King Gustaf VI Adolf, will travel to Philadelphia "to continue their ten-day visit to this country."
