King Harald's bier was carried through the most beautiful halls of the Palace in a solemn ceremony.

His Majesty King Haakon and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra walked in front and led the bier through the Yellow Salon, the Mirror Hall, the Daily Dining Room, the Small Banquet Hall and the Large Banquet Hall.

Her Majesty the Queen and Queen Sonja also walked in the procession, which was led by His Majesty the King's Chief of Staff. He carried the royal crown on a cushion, and the head of the Royal Secretariat carried the royal sword. Other members of the Royal Court leadership wore King Harald's highest orders from Norway, Denmark, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
