Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have announced the name of their daughter: Adelaide Elizabeth Annina.

Princess Eugenie wrote: "2 weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world. And since then we've had the most special, cosy and love-filled time.

We are so happy to share Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank. Named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her Great-Grandmother who we hold close in our hearts. Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home?

Augie and Ernie are already the best big brothers."

Adelaide honors the late Queen Adelaide (Princess Adelheid of Saxe-Meiningen), the consort of William IV, and perhaps Santa Maria Adelaide. https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/saint-maria-adelaide.

Eugenie wore Queen Adelaide's brooches as hairpieces at her wedding.

Adelaide fulfills the English and Portuguese history reference in Eugenie's statement.

Elizabeth, of course, is for the late Queen Elizabeth II

Annina - most likely Countess Annina Bruges von Pfuel, who married Casper Benteler in September 2024.  Princess Eugenie was one of the guests at the wedding.   Eugenie and Annina are friends
