Nicholas and Alexandra of Russia and their children, King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, Christian IX of Denmark, King George I of the Hellenes, and 28 princes and princesses arrived together on one train from Fredensborg, and were "all present" for a farewell lunch in Copenhagen on board the Russian imperial yacht, the Standart. Afterwards, the entire party, with the exception of Nicholas II, went on board the Polar star to "take leave" of the Empress and her children, who were to sail to Kiel. Nicholas II remained on board the Standart as he planned to visit Danish forts and Danzig.
Alexandra was expected to rejoin her husband for an official visit to France.
