Queen Maria Pia of Portugal, the widow of the slain King Carlos, is preparing to leave the country for Italy. "Half crazed over the worry over the persistenet threats of a revolt in Lisbon and of attempts on the lives of members of the royal family," Queen Maria Pia will move to Italy. It has been suggested that she has begged her surviving son, Manoel II, to abdicate, but he insists that he will remain in Portugal, as it is his duty.
