Here is the link to an Italian monarchist site (which supports Amedeo as the head of the house and de jure king of Italy.
Same source for the photos (IBL) - but a bit larger (watermark remains). One note: Mafalda's youngest child is named Elena, not Chiara.

an article from ABC, the Spanish daily newspaper:

Prince Michael is described as Sophie's uncle. This is, of course, incorrect. Michael and Sophie's father, King Paul, were first cousins, which makes Michael and Sophie first cousins once removed.
George I of Greece - Constantine - Paul -- Sophie
George I of Greece - Christopher - Michael

I really like olga's wedding gown ! very original ! in a photo, she looks like a greek godess.
Marlene,
In the Spanish and especially the Greek traditions, Sofia is considered Michael's niece, even if it seems quiet strange in this situation where Sofia is a year older than her "uncle".
;-)
well, this blogger is American and she's sticking to her story: first cousin once removed!
In France too, prince Michael would be considered as queen Sofia's uncle (oncle à la mode de Bretagne as it is called) but France is not US !
thanks. In the UK, Michael would be a first cousin once removed ...Ditto Germany (Vetter und Kusine).
An uncle in the Anglo-Saxon world is your mother or father's brother. A great uncle is your grandmother or grandfather's brother or so on.
Michael and Paul (Sophie's father) are first cousins because they share common grandparents. So Sophie is Michael's first cousin once removed. Her children and Michael are second cousins. Their children are third cousins (and so on)
I don't need any explaination about relationships thank you Marlene ! I just wanted to point out how Sofia is Michael'niece that's all
