Is Prince Amedeo about to pop the question

Belgian journalist, Reinout Goddyn, reported over the weekend on the Belgian program, Royalty, that Prince Amedeo, eldest son of Princess Astrid of the Belgians,  is expected to announce his  engagement to Italian Lili Rosboch von Wolkenstein sometime in 2014.

Goddyn said: "Sooner or later they will announce an engagement. Amedeo is likely to first finish his studies in New York."

The couple live together in New York City, and have been dating for about seven years.   "Amedeo and Lili have hidden themselves good years for the press, until now. This is a signal to us that they are sure of each other," said Goddyn, whose report is based on a "reliable source."

Lili's father, Ettore,  is the natural son of Don Filippo Caracciolo, 9th Prince di Castagneto, 3rd Duke  di Melito   and Elisabeth von Jaworski.  Elisabeth's mother was Countess Marie von Wolkenstein.

Do you know if the future grand children of princess Astrid and prince Laurent will be princes of Belgium or will they recive another title?.

I know the grandchildren of princess Astrid will be Archdukes of Austria-Este

Yes, they will be princes and princess of Belgium, but I won't be surprised if there is a change to limit the title because it can be passed through the female line as well. Belgium has gender equal succession

Thank you so much. So we will have a big group of princes of Belgium in the future.

Since Lili's father appears to have the title of "prince" in the Italian nobility, just curious if this marriage would be considered Ebenbürtigkeit under the old rules?

Lili's father has no title at all. He bears the surname of his mother's husband who died before he was born. He is illegitimate, and does not bear the surname of his real father Filippo Caracciol, Duke of Castagneto. He is Mr Rosboch von Wolkenstein, a made up name. Rosboch was the surname of his mother's late husband, Ettore. von Wolkenstein comes from his maternal grandmother, who was a countess of Wolkenstein-Trotsburg. You won't find Lili's dad in the Italian nobility directory because he was born on the wrong side of the blanket.
