The Associated Press is reporting this morning on the reports of a "reconciliation between former King Alfonso of Spain" and his wife, Victoria Eugenia. The reports are seen to be credible as the former queen "will cruise in Italy in the company of the Duke of Miranda, Alfonso's chamberlain and adviser."
The couple's eldest son, the Prince of Asturias, said he "could not say anything at present" about a reconciliation, but acknowledged that his father is in Italy and "admitted his mother is going there."
The former Queen will arrive in Cannes from England in June, according to the Prince, and will board the yacht of an Australian couple, Mr. and Mrs. David Townsend. The Duke of Miranda will arrive at the same time in his own boat, and "will follow the Townsends to Italy."
