Princess Ingrid of Sweden arrived in Copenhagen today and received an enthusiastic welcome. This is her first visit to Denmark since the announcement of her engagement to Crown Prince Frederik, reports the New York Times.
Flags were flown throughout the city, and "20,000 people cheered the royal couple on their triumphal rode through the city to the castle."
The groom's mother, Queen Alexandrine, now fully recovered from her recent operation in Stockholm, was also cheered by the crowds, on her return to Copenhagen.
