A friend recommended WakeupCopenhagen, an inexpensive hotel on Borgergade, within walking distance of Rosenborg Slott and Amalienborg, two of the royal palaces on my list. After checking in, I called an Uber to take me to see The Little Mermaid.

I walked back from the statue toward Nyhavn (the street with the pretty houses), where I had dinner. It is normal to sit outside, even in October, since restaurants offer heaters, fire pits, and heated seats!
From Nyhavn, it was about a 10-minute walk back to the hotel, though I stopped at another restaurant for dessert. I was determined to stay away until about 10 p.m., when I went to bed, comforted by Tylenol-PM. The alarm was set for 7 a.m., as Friday was going to be a full day: a train to Roskilde, then visiting Amalienborg, and spending the evening at Tivoli Gardens.

You are an A+ traveler, Marlene! I am going to enjoy your Copenhagen posts immensely.
The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen is simply delightful, we toured there many years ago…there is a copy of it in the town of Solvang, CA. Thanks for sharing your trip, your photos are beautiful…what a quick trip, you’re a trooper!
Best, Virginia
