Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Andrew's peerage, the Dukedom of York, has been struck off the Roll of Peers.
The King issued a royal warrant to remove the peerage from the Roll. This action was carried out by David Lammy, the Lord Chancellor at the Crown Officer.
It is the Lord Chancellor who maintains the list of peers.
This does not mean that Andrew has officially lost his peerage. That will take further action
There are half dozen or so peers who have not gone through the process to be included in the Roll. These peers include the current Dukes of Atholl and Manchester. This does not stop them from using their titles.

There is on error,however.
The Royal Warrant creating the Roll of the Peerage does not provide for peers to be struck off-it does provide in clause 6 for peers to request their name to be removed,and this is presumably what happened since Andrew’s name is no longer on the Roll.
We will wait and see whether there is to be a bill to deprive Andrew of his peerage.It potentially opens a can of worms-what is the basis for deprivation,and will it apply to other peers?
And of course bills have to be debated in both houses,something I am sure the Crown would not want.
Only recently, Sarah Ferguson got the right to be buried at Frogmore when she passes away. I wonder if both Andrew and Sarah will end up now..
Same goes with Harry and if still married Meghan.
That story was never confirmed. It was reported in late 2023 that the queen had said she could be buried at frogmore, but it was never an official statement.
I thought it was KCIII that gave permission, rather then QEII. I don't think there is anything offical, other then stories around from the likes of the Daily Mail and I think Lady Colin Campbell.
