Cecilie with her Mecklenburg relatives

This is a new postcard to my collection. Crown Princess Cecilie of Prussia with her Mecklenburg relatives. I do not know when it was taken - 1930s, perhaps. The photo does not appear in books about Crown Princess Cecilie nor in Christian Ludwig's books on the Mecklenburgs ...

The photo was taken in Rostock.

The postcard is great. My guess that's 1931-1933 years as Duchesses Thyra and Woislawa look 13-15 years old.

It's a good thing that Cecile had such a distinctive face or I wouldn't have recognised her. I hope that I am right in saying that is her between the ladies with the dark dress and the spotted dress?

Yes,you are right, Cecilie is between Duchess Elisabeth of Mecklenbourg-Schwerin (widow of Duke Johann Albrecht)in the spotted dress, and Princess Olga of Hannover, in the dark dress.

Perhaps it is a group photo after the confirmation of Thyra and Woizlawa. Both are wearing white.

What is even more amazing is that one of the royals featured here, Woizlawa Reuß, is still alive, more than seventy years after the photo was taken.

I, however, doubt the photo was taken at their confirmation since Thyra and Woizlawa look not like teenagers yet, which would make the image's date sometime in the late 1920s.

There are two men in the back with bald heads and mustaches. They look almost identical. Would one of them be the Grand Duke? I've noticed that the male members of this family have a strong tendacy to bladness at an early age.

unfortunately, I do not have a list of all of who's who on the photo.

The bald men are GD Friedrich Franz and his Uncle Duke Adolf Friedrich.

I too believe this picture was taken at the confirmation of Woizlawa andd Thyra. The two young girls are most definitely adolescents, around 14-15, and both are wearing white dresses and what looks like special "grown-up" white stockings, and holding missals. All signs of a special religious event, especially in the light of all the notable and/or elderly relations gathered together from near and far. By the marcelled hairdos and dress styles, this photo looks like it was taken in the mid-1930's.
