Queens grateful to American Red Cross

December 5, 1912

Two Queens have offered their thanks to the money contributed by the American public through the Red Cross.  The donations will go to the "sufferers from the Balkan war," reports the New York Times.

Queen Olga of the Hellenes, who is "nursing the sick and wounded at Salonika, sent the following message:  "Profoundly touched. Grateful to all generous givers."

Queen Eleonore of Bulgaria also released a statement: "Am most grateful for generous gifts on behalf of wounded soldiers."
