Infante Dinis of Portugal to marry Austrian countess


Infante Dom Dinis and Countess Anna  


 Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Bragança are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, HRH Infante Dom Dinis de Bragança, Duke of Porto, and the Countess Anna  Schaffgotsch gennant Semperfrei von und zu Kynast und Greiffenstein, Baroness von Trachenberg.

Infante Dom Dinis and Countess Anna Schaffgotsch got engaged in Lisbon this month. The Infante Don Dinis informed the Duke and Duchess of Bragança and other close members of his family.

More details regarding the wedding will be announced in due course.

[The Duke of Porto is the third child and second son of the Duke and Duchess of Braganza.  His older brother, Afonso, Prince of Beira, is the heir to their father, the Duke of Braganza.]

Countess Anna Schaffgotsch von und zu Kynast und Greiffenstein, Baroness of Trachenberg, was born in Vienna, Austria, on February 17, 2002, and is the daughter of Count Maximilian and Countess Marie Schaffgotsch von und Zu Kynast and Greiffenstein.   Anna has three brothers.

Anna Schaffgotsch holds a Bachelor of Economics and Social Sciences from the Vienna University of Economics and Management (WU) and has completed her training with certifications in Real Estate Management and Health Management. She is currently majoring in Education and will pursue Comparative Education at University College London.

Throughout her career, she held administrative roles as an Office Assistant and Personal Assistant at the Viennese Children’s Theatre, gaining experience in communication, organization, accounting, research, event management, social media, and administrative support. He also collaborated on European education and sustainability projects.

At the same time, she has extensive experience accompanying children and young people at holiday camps, providing private care, and volunteering with people with disabilities in Romania. These experiences reinforced their interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, and adaptability across different contexts.

Anna stands out for her dedication, resilience, and strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. She is fluent in English, has German as her mother tongue, speaks Italian, and continues to develop her language skills.

She is currently interning in an education program at the Lisbon Project Association NGO in Lisbon.


Duke of Porto

HRH Infant Dom Dinis de Bragança, Duke of Porto, was born in Lisbon on November 25, 1999. He is a student of Political Science and International Relations, with an academic course oriented towards European Studies and Foreign Affairs. His education combines a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Brussel with further studies at the Portuguese Catholic University, reflecting a strong interest in international relations and European politics.

Professionally, he was a co-founder and partner of Caravela Consulting, where he provided strategic consulting to public and private entities, with a special focus on international trade, investment, institutional relations, and policy formulation. Also develop experience in customer management and promoting international partnerships.

He also completed internships at international organizations and the European Parliament, participating in projects on international cooperation, sustainable development, the preparation of funding applications, and support for legislative activity. These experiences have allowed Dinis to work with government entities and multilateral organizations in diverse international contexts.

He stands out for his competencies in public policy analysis, intercultural communication, and institutional coordination, complemented by fluency in Portuguese and English, and proficiency in French, Spanish, and Italian.
