Prince Josef Emanuel of Liechtenstein marries Colombian heiress

Prince Josef-Emanuel of Liechtenstein and  Maria Claudia Echavarria were married on March 25 at the Iglesia de San Pedro Claver in Cartagena, Colombia.

The prince is the youngest child and only son of Prince Nikolaus of Liechtenstein and Princess Margaretha of Luxembourg.  He is a grandson of the late Prince Franz Josef II of Liechtenstein and the late Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg.

Josef-Emanuel attended the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst.  After he passed out, he joined the Irish Guards.  His grandfather, Grand Duke Jean, served in the Irish Guards during the second world war.   At the Trooping the Colour in 2010,  Prince Josef-Emanuel, 21, presented the regiment flag to the queen.

The new princess, who is known as Cloco,  is one of two children of the late Felipe Echavarria Rocha and Evelia Suarez.  

They announced their engagement on July 17. 2021 at the reception following the wedding of Princess Therese of Liechtenstein and  Count Catejan of Toerring-Jettenbach at Waldstein, Austria.

The bride was described by the Daily Mail as "an ethereal figure in a lace, off-shoulder gown." She carried a bouquet of white flowers.

The church was filled with family and friends from the bride and groom's families.   The groom's guests included his parents, Prince Nikolaus and Princess Margaretha, his sisters, Princesses Astrid and Annunciata and their husbands, Princess Maria Laura of Belgium and her fiance, William Isvy, Hereditary Prince Alois and Hereditary Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein, Princess Nora of Liechtenstein and her daughter, Teresa Sartorious,  Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, Prince Felix and Princess Claire of Luxembourg, Prince Sebastien of Luxembourg, Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg, Archduke Christian and Archduchess Marie Astrid of Astrid, Archduke Alexander of Austria,  Prince Henri and Princess Gabriella of Bourbon-Parma, Prince Jean of Luxembourg with his daughter, Marie Gabrielle and her husband, Antonius Willms,  Prince Guillaume and his son, Prince Paul-Louis, Princess Mafalda of Hesse and Rolf Sachs,  the  Prince and Princess Napoleon, Countess Maximiliana of Arco-Zinneberg and her boyfriend, Byron Houdayer and the newly married, Countess Margherita of Arco-Zinneburg and Charles Green.

A private dinner celebration followed the wedding ceremony.   The bride and groom hosted a party for their guests earlier today in Cartagena.

\The couple live in London where the prince works as an architect.  The new Princess Claudia of Liechtenstein is the co-founder of the Si Collective, which focuses on Latin American fashion and design.

What is Princess Claudia and heiress to?
Also does is it known tif she has some African ancestry? In many photos her mother Evelia Suarez has a darker appearance. Just curious

The Echevarrias are Basque in origin, and came to Colombia in the 17th century according to W magazine (2016). Agricukture, then mining, then manufactures.
