New engagements to celebrate

Count Augustinus Franziskus  von und zu Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg is engaged to HSH Princess Alice Antoinette Maria Theresia Filippa Alexandra of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg-Schillingsfürst. The couple got engaged on December 29th.

Count Augustinus is the third child and eldest son of Count Alexander von und zu Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg and Countess Maria Theresia Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau.  Princess Alice is the eldest child of HSH Prince Karl-Albrecht of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg-Schillingsfürst and his first wife Countess Maria Teresa von Bulgarini d'Elci.

Alice's paternal great-grandmother was Countess Alexandra Olga Eugénia Festetics de Tolna (1884-1963), the third child of Lady Mary Victoria Douglas-Hamilton and her second husband, Prince Tasziló Festetics de Tolna.  Lady Mary Victoria was the daughter of the 11th Duke of Hamilton and his wife, Princess Marie Amelie of Baden.  Lady Mary Victoria's first marriage to Albert I, Prince of Monaco was annulled.    Countess Alexandra was married twice. Alice is a descendant of her second husband was Prince Erwin of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg-Schillingsfürst.

Alice's uncle, Constantin (1949) is the present Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst.   He is not married.  The heir presumptive is her uncle, Philipp, but unless he has a son (he has only daughters and his wife is 61 years old), the title will pass to Alice's father and then her younger half-brother, Prince Louis.

HSH Princess Teresa Elisabeth Maria Franziska of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg is engaged to Alexander Henry de Cruce Grubb Villiers-Stuart.   She is the elder of two daughters of HSH Prince Johannes Carl Franz August of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and Bettina von Molo.   The bride-to-be is 31 years old.

Mr. Grubb, who served in the British Army, works for Microsoft in Munich, was born in Ireland.  He grew up at Dromana House, near Cappoquin,  has been in the Villiers-Stuart family for more than 800 years.

Dutch genealogist Hein Bruins has discovered more information on Mr. Grubb.   He was born in October 1984 and is the son of  Nicholas de Cruce Grubb and  Barbara Villiers-Stuart.

The Villier Stuarts are descendants of Lord Henry Stuart, the younger son of John Stuart, 1st Marquess of Bute.

 HSH The Prince of Schaumburg Lippe will  marry Iranian pianist Mahkameh Navabi on September 12, 2020.

This will be the third marriage for Prince Alexander.  His first two marriages to Princess Marie Louise (Lily) of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and Nadja Anna Zsoeks, a Munich lawyer, ended in divorce.  He has three children,  Hereditary Prince Heinrich Donatus, 25, by his first wife, and two daughters, Princess Felipa, 11, and eight-year-old Princess Philomena by his second wife.

Princess have been marrying outside the norm for a while, but Teresa is the first to marry a Grubb! :)
