Romanian Supreme Court postpones Lambrino decision

Romania's High Court announced today a delay in the case of Paul Lambrino, who is trying to have his father, the late Carol Lambrino, recognized as Carol II's legitimate son.

The Court was scheduled to issue a final ruling today.  The judges say they need more time to look more carefully at a 1955 ruling in Portugal, a ruling that recognized Carol Lambrino as a legal heir to King Carol's property in Portugal.  The Portuguese case did not establish Carol Lambrino as heir to the Romanian throne, but as one of two heirs to King Carol's property in Portugal.

The other heir is King Carol's legitimate son, King Michael.  King Carol, however, left all of his property to his third wife, Elena Lupescu.  Her estate was inherited by several former staff members.

Should the High Court rule in Lambrino's favor,  King Michael and his family could lose all of their property in Romania, including Sinaia.

I hope that doesn't happen. But would King Michael realy lose his rights to those properties? Didn't Michael inherit those (private) properties directly from his grandfather in 1927 when he first ascended the throne?

Ferdinand left Sinaia to Michael, not Carol. Savarsin was bought by Michael in the 40s.
