Princess Robert de Brogile was granted a divorce today in Paris on the grounds of her husband's desertion. The court granted her custody of the couple's only child, and $60.00 a month in alimony. Prince Robert, according to the Associated Press report, may see the child at "stated intervals."
The Princess is the former Estelle Alexander of San Francisco. She was first married to Sidney Veit, a wealthy New York merchant" They were divorced several years ago. Miss Alexander "subsequently appeared on the vaudeville stage," where she caught the attention f Prince Robert. They were married in Chicago in 1906, although the marriage did not meet with Prince Robert's family's approval. The couple remained together until "a year or more ago," when "rumors of domestic accord were followed by a separation. In order to support her child, the princess "has been appearing in the music halls of Paris."
