The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the Spanish monarch, King Alfonso XIII, makes the discovery that he cannot flirt with two women at the same time. He's been rather attentive to the comic opera singer, Julieta Pons, but as the king appears to be as "inconstant" as his father, he has also been seen with La Fornarina, a music hall star, who is a "tremendous favorite with her audiences." He invited the star to dinner, and his note, he incluided $500, but La Fornarina declined as she did not want to play "second fiddle" to the number one favorite, Julieta Pons. She thanked the king for his invitation, and said she would donate the $500 to charity.
