King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were present today at the marriage of Archduchess Isabel of Austria and Don Carlos Palacio Gaytán de Ayala. The religious wedding took place at the Jesuit Church in Vienna.

Archduchess Isabel, 25, is the elder daughter and third of five children of Archduke Simeon of Austria and Princess Maria of Bourbon-Two-Sicilies. Her new husband, Don Carlos, 32, is the son of Don Carlos Maria de Palacio y Oriol and the late Teresa Gaytán de Ayala y Domínguez. He is the grandson of José María Gaytán de Ayala y Garmendia, marqués de Tola de Gaytán, and María de Sagrado Corazón Domínguez y López-Montenegro, condesa de Rodezno, and of José María de Palacio y Palacio, marqués de Villarreal de Álava, and María del Sacramento de Oriol y Urquijo.
The bride's father, Archduke Simeon, is the son of the late Archduke Rudolf of Austria and his first wife, Countess Xenia Chernysheva-Besobrasova, and a grandson of Emperor Karl I of Austria and Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma. Archduchess Maria is the daughter of the late Prince Don Carlos of Borbón-Two Sicilies, Infante of Spain, Duke of Calabria, and Princess Anne of Orleans.
In January, the groom's father, Carlos María, resigned as chairman of Talgo. This firm manufactures passenger trains, which was founded by his grandfather, José Luis de Oriol y Urigüen, in 1942.
The newlyweds are based in London, where both work in finance. Archduchess Isabel studied at the University of Navarra, where she earned a bachelor's degree in politics, philosophy and economics. She works as an analyst at the privately owned Fremman Capital. Carlos has ab MBA from MIT Sloan. He is a Senior Associate in the Private Equity team at Mubadala Capital, which is owned by the Abu Dhabi government.
