Today, Queen Camilla celebrated her 79th birthday with an announcement - a gift for others. Her Majesty announced that
Katherine Rundell's bestselling book, Impossible Creatures, will be given to every child in Year 6 (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) and P6 (Scotland) at the end of this year. Queen Camilla announced the program, The Queen's Christmas Present, earlier today.
More than 800,000 copies of the books will be distributed through schools, libraries, hospitals, food banks, refuges, and care centers, according to the National Literacy Trust.
The book will include a stamp on the cover and inside a message from the Queen: "Impossible Creatures, by one of my favourite writers, is a brilliant fantasy that will introduce you to a host of mythical friends and terrifying enemies … and I hope that you will love it as much as I do,” reads the message.
The photo was taken by Chris Jackson on May 26th at Hillsborough Castle.
