HRH, Princess Beatrice Leopoldina Victoria of Edinburgh, Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Infanta of Spain, Duchess of Galliera, was born at Eastwell Park on April 20, 1886. She was the youngest child of HRH Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, and HIH Grand Duchess Marie Alexandrovna of Russia.
The Duke of Edinburgh was the fourth child and second son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
She was baptized in the Anglican church and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. In 1909, she married HRH Prince Don Alfonso de Borbon-Orléans, Infante of Spain, a first cousin of King Alfonso XIII, in three ceremonies: civil, Lutheran, and Roman Catholic.
The couple’s three sons were raised in the Roman Catholic faith. Still, Baby Bee remained a Protestant until February 2, 1928, when she was received into the Catholic Church in a ceremony in Montpensier Palace in Sanlucar de Barrameda, Spain.
This information was published in Ena y Bee en defense de una de amistad.
Although she lived for most of her life outside the United Kingdom, Princess Beatrice was a British princess by birth and never lost that position. Her coffin was covered with the British flag.
She was the first British royal to become a Roman Catholic. The Duchess of Kent, a British princess by marriage, was the second.

Did Queen Victoria Eugenie not convert? Or do you not consider her a British princess, despite her Scottish birth & the granting of the style Royal Highness just before marriage? Born a Princess of Battenberg admittedly but always domiciled in the UK until her marriage, unlike Princess Beatrice 😊
She was a British born princess, but she was a princess of Battenberg. She was created HRH before the wedding so she would no longer be unequal. She was a serene highness by birth and serene highness does not exist or did not exist in the UK just HH or HRH until 1914. Is Prince Johann Wenzel of Liechtenstein. Beatrice was a princess of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Ena was a princess of Battenberg, her rank and title came from her father, not her mother.
