Discovered this Christmas card in an album. It was sent to me some years ago -- the 80s -from John Ambler and Princess Margaretha (of Sweden). Margaretha is the eldest sister of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.
The painting shows John Ambler and Princess Margaretha with their three children, Sybilla, Edward, and James.
John and Margaretha married in 1964. They separated in 1994, but never divorced.
Ambler bought Chippinghurst Manor in 1964. Financial problems forced the British businessman to sell the property in 1985 for £1.3 million.
For more than 30 years, Princess Margaretha has lived near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire. On October 31st, she will celebrate her 91st birthday.
