Baron Hanns Ulrich von Holzhausen was born on September 1, 1929 in Windischgarten, Austria. He was the only son of Baron Kurt Ludwig Hermann von Holzhausen and Mary Heyssler. On August 27, 1959, he married HI & RH Archduchess Maria Magdalena of Austria, Princess of Tuscany, in a civil ceremony at Mondsee. The Roman Catholic wedding took place two days later, also in Mondsee.
Archduchess Maria Magdalena (1939-2021) was the daughter of HI & RH Archduke Anton of Austria and HRH Princess Ileana of Romania, the youngest daughter of King Ferdinand of Romania and his wife, Princess Marie of Edinburgh, Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
