Princess Ingrid Alexandra confirmed

Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway, 2nd in line  to the Norwegian throne, was confirmed in the Lutheran Church earlier today. She is the eldest of two children of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette Marit.  The Confirmation Service, which in the Lutheran church is a reaffirmation of one's baptism - and rite of Passage -- took place in the castle's chapel.  Princess Ingrid's father, grandfather and great-grandfather, King Olav V, were confirmed.

The princess' baptism took place in the Palace chapel on April 17, 2004.  Two of her godparents,  Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and King Felipe VI of Spain, then the Prince of Asturias, were preparing for their weddings.

That's a wonderful lineup of godparents. It's interesting that King Felipe was permitted to be a sponsor since he isn't Lutheran like the others.

The Lutheran church is more open about sponsors .. baptized Christians. Harald V's godparents included King Leopold III and King George V and Queen Mary.
