Duke of Connaught as King of Hungary?

January 4, 1920

The Associated Press reports today from Budapest that Hungary's monarchist party  "has begin an active propaganda in favor of an English prince for the Hungarian throne."

The most likely candidate, according to the dispatch, is the Duke of Connaught,  the only surviving son of the late Queen Victoria, and uncle of the present King George V.

The Hungarian government is said "to be indirectly aiding in the campaign," and the majority of government officials and politicians argue that "only the aid of England will save Hungary from economic ruin."
