Crown Princess Stephanie of Austria's condition took "a marked change for the worst last night."
According to a dispatch from the New York Times, a physician and a priest were at Stephanie's bedside all night. She has received Last Rites, the final sacrament of the Roman Catholic church. Her father-in-law, Emperor Franz Joseph, has visited her.
Stephanie is the widow of the late Crown Prince Rudolf, who died at Mayerling in January 1889.
