Death of Beatriz de Borbon Campos


On October 1, 2008, Doña Beatriz de Borbon y Campos died at Madrid. She was 57 years old. She is survived by her second husband, Danish-born Anders Jeffert and two daughters, Christina Venturini de Borbon and Alexandra Jefferts de Borbon. She is also survived by her mother, Doña Maria Dolores Campos y Guerra.

Doña Beatriz was a member of the Seville branch of the Spanish royal family.

Her father, Alberto de Borbon (1916-1997) was the 5th child of Don Jose Maria de Borbon (1883-1962) and Maria Luisa Rich y Carvajo. Jose Maria was a younger brother of Don Francisco de Paula de Borbon and Enriqueta de Borbon, Duchess of Seville. The ducal title passed to their third child and eldest surviving son, Francesco, who renounced the title in favor of his eldest son, Francesco de Paula (1943), who is the present Duke of Seville.

The photo here is from Beatriz's first marriage to Jean-Bernard Venturini. They were married at Paris on April 28, 1972. The marriage lasted for only seven yearse before the couple were divorced in 1979. Beatriz married Anders Jeffert, director general of Oticon, on December 28, 1979 in Copenhagen.
Beatriz and the present Duke of Seville were second cousins.
