Funeral services will be held at the Russian Church in Copenhagen for Empress Marie of Russia who died yesterday at the age of 81. The former Princess Dagmar of Denmark died at her home in Copenhagen after a lengthy illness. She had never stopped believing that her son, Nicholas II and his family, were still alive, and the Romanovs would return to rule Russia. The empress' body will lie in state until the funeral.
It is expected that members of the Danish royal family will attend the funeral. It is also understand that King Haakon of Norway will attend the funeral, as well as the Duke of York, who will represent his father, King George V. Military honors will be accorded. Following the funeral, Empress Marie will be buried at Roskilde Cathedral.
King Christian X, who is the late Empress' nephew, has ordered four weeks of court mourning.
