Day 12 Sandringham and Cromer

June 24 - penultimate full day in England.  We had breakfast at the Poacher's Pocket before checking out and heading to Sandringham.  Our final night in Norfolk would be back in Cromer.

Michael and Alison had never been to Sandringham.  This was my fifth visit since the 1970s, and the first since May 2018.  I was looking forward to seeing the new gardens in front of the house.  I would not be disappointed.

The gardens are stunning.  One of the gardens, a rock garden, was still under construction

You can view the gardens from in side the house

The King is also having new gardens added to the side of the house, which you walk past to get to the back and the entrance for the tour.  No photos are permitted inside the house.

the front garden also includes a maze

Chip/Crisp flavors.  YUCK

The gardens have changed the landscape at Sandringham House.  The King has done right thing.

We drove back to Cromer to check in to the place we stayed two nights earlier ... and we got the same cottage.  Strange - that someone else had the middle night.  Alison had made a reservation for three nights, but the resort screwed up.  Instead, we had a nice visit to the Poacher's Pocket.

And then it was back into the car for the short drive into town.  Alison found a great parking spot.

It was a long day - fun -- and tiring.  All three of us wanted to chill out at the resort -- tomorrow - my last full day in the UK -- would have two stops before heading back to Harrogate.
