I enjoyed these photos! I kept coming back to the photo of the group on their way to the wedding of Princess Maria Pia of Italy and Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia as I love figuring out the relationships among the people in shots like this.
I was able to work out that Beatrix is the daughter of Gottfried and Margarita, and through Margarita and her sister Sophie - originally of Greece & Denmark - Beatrix and Dorothea are first cousins. I also discovered that Dorothea and Moritz are first cousins through their fathers Christoph and Phillipp of Hesse.
I had a hard time finding Christa of Prussia. I finally found her as the daughter of Prince Wilhelm, grandson of Wilhelm II, and Dorothea von Salviati, and worked out her relationship to Moritz as 2nd cousins, once removed. But I also learned that Dorothea of Hesse had an older sister, Christina Margarethe, who was called Krista and who married Prince Andrew of Yugoslavia the year after this photo was taken. Is it possible that this is who the Princess Christa is in the photo? It just makes such sense to me.
Obviously it doesn't matter at all which Christa it is. But I was able to create quite a satisfying diversion while avoiding work for a couple of hours today, and it would be a nice little reward if my theory were correct. Thank you!
glad you had fun ... Christa is course the younger daughter of the late Prince Wilhelm of Prussia and Dorothea von Salviati. All are descendants of Queen Victoria
