On January 30, 2019, Miss Boel's lawyers told the court that the King had not yet submitted to the DNA test.
The king's lawyers responded today by announcing that they are filing another motion against the decision of the Court of Appeals.
"HM King Albert II will not submit to a DNA analysis until the Court of Cessation has given its judgment."

Why is the King being so stubborn about all this? It's not like this story is a secret anymore despite whatever the outcome is. It's been in the media for quite sometime now and it
needs to be resolved for everyone involved. In my opinion, every child has the
right to know for sure who their parents are. Is the issue money? I don't know enough about the Belgian Royal Family to be sure if she's only seeking publicity or money or whatever.
In the event that the courts force King Albert II to submit to DNA testing and the results are positive, that he is the father, would that entitle her to be a princess with royal highness treatment and inheritance rights? I have no idea what, if any, is the former king's fortune, but it could turn out to be a significant amount.
Delphine would not be a princess nor have rights because she is illegitimate. She could be entitled to a percentage of her father's fortune, but it has been reported that everything that been out in Paola's name. Delphine is not seeking money, all she has wanted is to have Albert officially be recognized as her father. Everyone knows it. He was involved in her life when she was growing up.
Everybody and his mother know that he and Queen Paola went through a turbulent period in their marriage where it was more than probable that he fathered this lady. It's a miracle that there haven't been more claims! If his refusal is due to his desire to preserve his reputation, he's going about it the wrong way. If he had acknowledged this a long time ago, when it first started, the whole thing would have dissipated into a historical footnote. It is much better to be known as a flawed individual who doesn't shirk his responsibilities and owns up to his mistakes, than as an arrogant cad who disregards common decency. BTW, Ms. Boel's own stubborn attitude about this matter is a sure sign that she is her father's daughter! I wonder if she will change her last name once she gets her due. At the moment she has no official father, but she's still using the name with which she was registered. Would she be a Saxe-Cobug and Gotha?
