Crown Princess Margareta meets new head of government.

Romanian Prime Minister, dinner at Elisabeta Palace


Yesterday evening, December 16, at Elisabeta Palace, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Margareta and Prince Radu received His Excellency Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș and Madame Cioloș at dinner.


On behalf of His Majesty King Michael I, The Crown Princess hosted the first meeting between the Royal Family and the head of the newly appointed Government of Romania.

Is this a normal thing, Marlene? Does the Royal Family have an unofficial or exofficio status in Romania? I know the monarchy will not be restored anytime soon, but how involved are the Royal Family in Romanias business, or is it limited to charity?

Yes, there is a relationship -- think of it as a royal republic.
