The Duchess of Connaught was operated on this morning at Clarence House, reports the New York Times. The surgery was performed by William Arbuthnot Lane, who practices at Guy's Hospital.
The operation was "severe," but was "borne well by the Duchess."
She is making "good progress," according to the latest bulletin, and her temperature is said to be normal.
The Duchess of Connaught's husband, the Duke of Connaught, is the Governor General of Canada.
