Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Ingrid arrived in Chicago this afternoon for a three day visit. They traveled by train from Minneapolis, reports the New York Times.
The young couple received a "tumultuous welcome" from several thousand people, including representatives from Chicago's Scandinavian community. There were large cheers when they alighted from the train at Union Station.
They are now attending a "large reception" in their honor at the Danish Trinity Lutheran church.
