The Duchess of Brabant is now a Harvard graduate, having earned a Master's in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. The 24-year-old heir to the throne will receive her diploma on May 28 in the presence of her parents, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde. In July 2024, she received a bachelor's degree in History & Politics from Lincoln College, a college of the University of Oxford.
Comedian and talk show host Conan O'Brien will be the keynote speaker. He is a Harvard alumnus who served as president of the Harvard Lampoon.
With her parents' support, the princess plans a gap year before fully embracing her royal duties. Several Belgian newspapers are reporting that Elisabeth wants to sail across the Atlantic. The details have not been finalized, but she is expected to join a sailing vessel toward the end of the year, starting in the Canary Islands and ending in the Caribbean. The trip will take place after the hurricane season ends.
