The funeral of Count Philippe de Lannoy
The funeral of the late Count Philippe de Lannoy, the father of Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie of Luxembourg, took place today at Frasnes-Lez-Anvaing in Belgium.
Count Philippe died on January 11 at the age of ninety six. He married in 1965 to Alix della Faille de Leverghem, who died on August 27, 2012, at the age of 70. The Count is survived by eight children and 22 grandchildren. Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie is the youngest of the eight children. She married the Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume in November 2012.
Mourners at the funeral included Queen Mathilde of the Belgians, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, Archduchess Marie Astrid of Austria, Prince Guillaume and Princess Sibilla of Luxembourg, Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg, Prince Louis of Luxembourg, as well as members of the Count's family including his children and grandchildren.
