The Duchess of Kent and her infant, born yesterday, are both doing well, according to a bulletin released by the Duchess's doctors.
According to the New York Times, the Duke and Duchess of Kent have received "congratulatory messages" at their country home, Coppins, in Iver, Buckinghamshire, from the British Empire and other countries.
The local post office had to make "special arrangements" to handle the stream of mail.
The yet un-named infant prince weighed 7.5 lbs at birth. It is expected that the baptism plans will be announced later this week.
This is the third child of the Duke and Duchess of Kent, who were married in November 1934.
